What actually happens to all the money on the transfer market? We analysed 15 seasons of World 1 data: every income and expense of the clubs in the top three leagues of Germany, England, Spain, Italy and France, every transfer — and above all the sales into the “Nirvana”: players who find no buyer on the transfer market, become clubless, while the seller is still credited the full minimum price. On top we show a simulation: What would change if Nirvana proceeds were capped at 30 million per sale? These numbers are the data basis for the discussion about new transfer market rules and possible TV money — have a look and join the debate.
A look at the three most recent seasons (71–73), across all of World 1:
How much money does the Nirvana pump into the game each season — and how much of it would sit above a 30m cap? Filterable by country and league (assigned via the selling club).

Each row is a final position, averaged over 15 seasons: how many of the 15 clubs on this spot were manager-run, how deep is the operating deficit, how much came in via transfers and the Nirvana?
